Industrial ceiling fans are becoming highly sought after by many homeowners. Their commercial grade performance is highly desirable for some, while others are buying them purely for their looks. However, you must be aware of the potential dangers and warnings before buying one for your home. Many industrial fans operate at very high speeds, so they must be mounted at an absolute minimum of 10 feet from the floor.

I strongly urge you to adhere to these rules and take a measurement of your ceiling’s height before purchasing any industrial fans.

Most of the major ceiling fan manufacturers have at least one industrial model available to the general public, and in many cases they are quite affordable. Here are three available from the most popular manufacturers:

Westinghouse 78614 56 Inch Industrial Ceiling Fan – this has a very powerful motor, but it is designed to be extremely quiet. The blades are made from steel and have a brushed nickel finish, as well as the rest of the fan. Keep in mind that this fan should only be used in bigger rooms around 20×20 feet.

Broan 56 inch Proline Industrial Ceiling Fan – this fan is manufactured by one of the most reliable names on the market, Broan. You know when you buy anything with their name on it, that it will last a long time and have a high performance level.

TPI Industrial Grade Ceiling Fan – this is a down draft fan that has a variable speed setting. It has an 18 in downrod, so please take that into account when measuring your ceiling height.

All industrial fans aren’t going to offer much in the way of style, but they are very powerful and can really cool off a room. While I would recommend only using them in a shop or garage, etc, if you do decide to use one in your home, please take the precautions I discussed above.
